IELTS, International English Language Testing System, is designed and developed by the Cambridge University inorder to ease the way of students and professionals who wish to study and work in countries where English is the first language.

 

WHO IS IT FOR?

This test is taken by more than 2 million people every year through out the world. As it helps the students and professionals to study and work in their dream countries, the number of candidates is increasing annually. IELTS is recognised by universities and employers in many countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. It is also recognised by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies. 

 

WHAT IS THE IELTS TEST LIKE?

There are two versions of IELTS exam one is for students that is the Academic and other one is for professionals or workers that is General Training. All candidates do the same Listening and Speaking sections.
The test has four sections:

  1. Listening - 4 sections, 40 questions, 30 minutes
  2. Speaking - interview, 15 minutes
  3. Reading - different for Academic  - 3 sections, 40 questions, 60 minutes
  4. Reading - different for Genreal Training - 5 sections, 40 questions, 60 minutes
  5. Writing - different for Academic or General Training - 2 pieces of writing, 60 minutes

 

LEVEL AND SCORES

There are different levels ranging from 1 - 9. The score is also available in the variables of .5 such as 6.5. The universities & colleges usually demand a score between 6-7 overall depending on the previous course you accomplished and the course you selected to pursue in your further studies. In addition to that there can be a condition of minimum score in all the foru modules. 

 

WHERE DO I TAKE THE TEST?

There are number of test centres available through out the world which has been recognised by the regulatory body of IELTS. There are more that 500 centres in 120 countries worldwide.

WHEN CAN I TAKE THE TEST?

Usually  4 tests are held in every month. You can register you test at any centre. We can help you in arranging a test date as well.  

 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO TAKE IELTS?

Fees are set by test centres and vary from country to country.Currently it is INR13,250/- in India. Which is expected to increase in the month of April 2020.
